The Reading Room is a small private room in a courtyard ideally suited to couples or individuals looking for a rural escape or some countryside inspiration. It is a great base to explore largely undiscovered mountain bike trails around Rulewater and in the edges of Keilder forest with covered cycle storage.
The room is in a more rural area of Rulewater, offering total escapism from a hectic pace of life, ideal for a weekend of switching off and getting away from it all. There is no wi-fi, limited mobile phone coverage and no television in the room, to slow down the pace of life and enjoy meandering walks to the village pub, or finding inspiration along the riverside, watching the farm animals and wildlife including red squirrels and birds of prey.
The room has a double bed and sofa bed so can sleep between two and four, a desk with a view over the fields to write at, a kettle, microwave, toaster and access to a bathroom and washing facilities. The Horse and Hound pub at Bonchester Bridge is within walking distance of about a mile and a half for meals.
